Energy Seminar – Week 4: Heat pumps: how to scale this critical clean energy technology across the world?

Heat pumps are widely recognized as a key clean energy technology in the energy transition. While the global heat pump market has expanded significantly, more than doubling in some countries in a single year, expanded policy support will be needed to build confidence in the technology and meet climate goals.

In his talk Dr Jan Rosenow sets out recent developments in heat pump markets and presents a range of policies that have been effective to drive heat pump uptake.

Energy-smart places: delivering net zero

The Prospering from the Energy Revolution programme, delivered by Innovate UK and EPSRC, has invested over £100m in developing and demonstrating place-based approaches to energy, with over 90 projects involving hundreds of organisations.

This one-day conference and exhibition in Manchester will help tell the projects’ stories and give insight into what has been learnt and achieved. 

The main stage presentations will be streamed and there will also be online exhibition and networking zones. There is no audience limitation for online attendance.

Energy Seminar – Week 7: Oxford University Environmental Sustainability Strategy and our plans to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2035

Following the University’s adoption of it environmental sustainability strategy in March 2021, a great deal of work has gone into developing the University pathway to net zero carbon. This talk will cover our accounting approach, the main areas of focus in the short, medium and long term and some examples of carbon reduction interventions that have been taken.
