More than half of large UK companies now have a Net Zero strategy in place
A YouGov poll of over 1,000 senior business decision makers found that more than half of larger companies (250+ employees) surveyed (52%) had a net zero strategy.
A YouGov poll of over 1,000 senior business decision makers found that more than half of larger companies (250+ employees) surveyed (52%) had a net zero strategy and 61% of these also felt their reputation would be negatively affected if they failed to commit to achieving their carbon targets.
However, the survey also found, with small and large companies included, less than a third (29%) of UK businesses overall have a strategy in place for reaching net zero carbon emissions, as many small and medium businesses have yet to decide on a plan.
42% of UK businesses are feeling overwhelmed by the steps they need to take to reach this goal.
Environmental concern was the biggest driver (72%) for businesses with a net zero strategy trying to meet their carbon targets, with reputation second (60%).
Energy efficiency is an intergral part of any net zero plan because it can help businesses reduce energy waste and cut carbon emissions.
The poll was carried out by YouGov on behalf of Veolia.
